It's in the heart, what really counts,
the senses fullfil these thoughts;
but if one day they were to go,
how would that change your life?
Not to hear, to see, to touch, to taste
does that change what's really in your soul;
does it really matter very much
make a difference to the meaning of you?
A person who has lived a fruitful life
cherishes the memories he's made;
the people he's lived with and loved so long
remain part of his being till he's gone.
Each day brings some new challenges
good thing we know not what's ahead;
just hope we come to terms with such times
face each as best we know how.
One can't feel sorry for themselves
when they've shared their life with others;
live each day as it if were your last
giving of yourself till that last breath of life.

As Tom does you have shared your thoughts with all of us and they are so very lovely. His thoughts flow over us all when we read or talk to him. He will be mightily pleased with this one. Love, C

Erika, the essence of who we are always is, regardless of what befalls us in life, as you so wisely inscribe here. The present moment does not come again and is extremely important as it culminates past experience in what we have now, but I have often thought what a gift beautiful memories are when we need them to sustain us.
Tom has shared with me many times thoughts which have bouyed me with gentleness and light. From the thoughtfulness in this poem, I'm thinking you are a special lady who gives of herself at least 110% each day as it comes.
