incandescence

Missing image

the soft, gentle, yet intense look in your eyes
beam towards me with an adoration so divine
sending my soul upwards, touching the heavens

the candles, alive with their incandescent glow,
mixing with the sweet, cleansing aroma of incense,
create an atmosphere of intimacy to be explored

touching your lip with my finger, i whisper, "shh..."
you look at me innocently, causing me to smile
no words were spoken, this is a touch only we know

sliding my hand down your cheek, drawing closer
feeling your heartbeat quickening, your senses aflame
our lips meet, igniting the smoldering embers within

i again look into your eyes, overflowing with desire
your needs, thoughts, they call to me and i respond
for i know you, as only a husband knows his wife

my lips tasting yours once more, you pull back
tracing your exposed neck with my hungry mouth
finding the spot that makes you...mmm yes there

in the iridescent ambiance of the candles' illumination
beholding each other, hands to bodies, to clothes
until finally succumbing to our desires and cravings

partakers in this most holy communion of united lovers
passions rising, reveling in an intimate baptism of fire
our bodies and souls surrendering, becoming as one

    stumbled upon ur poem by chance.this is the first time i liked a sensual love poem.the starting is just too good for words. beautifully captures the essence of true love when soul and body unite. gave me goosebumps and i was like - wow!! u really love her. lucky her!! God bless u both.

    This piece tugged hard and awakened everything dormant While I was reading which I do several times~ Images come to me in many forms~ while taking in Your words: partakers in this most holy communion of united lovers This may sound strange but I was kept seeing an apparition- near a wishing well- quite interesting Also I've commented on this before though not as a judge but a honored visitor- Personally I don't have a preference for capital letters or lower case as long as it is consistent within the write- example beginning lines capital- etc- or if lowercase i....consistent throughout which You have done- As one of the judges, I'll mention what I notice but I don't like to butcher another person's work- I'm not a poetic guru and will never claim to be- this is just a personal note: hopefully that makes sense but know I sure did enjoy the emotions exuded also Congratulations on Your awardsI'm not picky whether there is punctuation or not as long as I don't get lost in the words and lose my place~Everybody has his or her own style preference so I take that in consideration I won't write a novel of a comment this time but in summary

    I really really like this piece. I can feel the love and passion in it and I know that you love this woman. Beautiful pause used to great effect when you kiss her neck. Well done on that one. One little piece of criticism - the tenses are mixed in some places - you go from past to present tense and then back again. That needs to be fixed in my mind. Other than that, this is lovely.

    Beautifully sensual

    This was stunning in its sensuality that went hand in hand with its class. It was an amazing experience to read something so far above the normal erotica poetry that I normally see. The love you feel for this woman was perfectly demonstrated along with the lust, fusing them effortlessly together into one overpowering emotion. Excellent.

      if there is one thing i am learning on this site, it's that true inspiration makes the best writing. the way you look at me, even now, just amazes me, and i can't help but fall in love with you "again and again" (i was gonna use that in the poem, but i can't let too many of our lil affirmations be made public!).

      yes, God knew what He was doing, i just hope the rest of the world is ready! lol or at least our poor neighbors...and the kids...and the cat...

    I really like this.. It's soft and sweet and yes steamy.. Though I think that there could be a bit more imagery added to this. It seems like the picture is way too vivid.. Not sure if I'm making sense here but it's like Your showing the obvious picture when it feels like there is something really beautiful and great just waiting beneath the surface.. But that could just be me.. Like I said.. I really like it still so you did a good job.. I wish you the best of luck..

    This is a delightful sensual journey, that touches lightly upon the senses but speaks deeply to the heart. It glitters with a sense of graciousness and respect for the partner so does not pander to the salacious but speaks instead loudly to the romantic and loving. It neither teases nor hints in any kind of winking sneer of masculine superiority but instead is grounded deeply in the ideals of mutual surrender and the gifting of like hearts. Very well done.

      can i put that in my author's notes? because my writes are based on real-life adventures with my beloved, i purposely chose not to expose too many details, leaving more to the imagination...

      lisa just posed me a question: which would you prefer?
      ~ seeing a woman in a robe, with a hint of the garters and stockings
      ~ seeing a woman in just her bra, panties, garters and stockings
      or
      ~ seeing a woman naked?

      i jokingly asked, "ok, what is the correct answer???" (bill engvall reference)...my answer is the robe, i prefer a tease, something that hints at what is to come.

      mutual surrender, yes, that is the key. equals in intimacy, no one dominating over the other.
