Richly adorned, Misery’s mantle rests
Upon slumped and sullen shoulders
Choosing ignorance before epiphany
Cold now in the dark
Lost betwixt now and if
Defeated
Laxity spawned reason’s lapse
Corrosion waxes
Potency becomes critical
Welcomes terminal event horizons
Painted in fateful hues
That drip, deciduous
In vectors of demise
Pantomime cannot resist
Even empty pews
The final act draws nigh
Of the great and secret show
Solemn acts of violence
Border madness found in cellars
Cannibalism exists in shadows
Audience in silence wreathed
Confounded by the truth
Curtain falls
Exit left of stage

A loaf of lovely verbiage that seemed to fit the bill.
A worthy read AND win! Congrats.

A very powerful piece of abstract depth and darkness, in contemplative bursts.. Well penned, with great attention to detail. Nicely articulated, the imagery is truly poignant, as well as thought provoking.
"Choosing ignorance before epiphany"
.. something about this line just screamed out to me - very intense ..
"Painted in fateful hues
That drip, deciduous
In vectors of demise"
.. excellent visual to thought here ..
Thank you so much for your entry!
