Snaking through nature,
the magnetic tapes escaped.
Flickering shiny ribbons
once held captive by cassettes.
You know they'd grin if they
had a face to do it with.
A human face.
They can flicker in the dark
between the leaves and the litter.
A reflective, fatal necklace
to grace the bark of tree trunks.
Collaring any animal
drawn in by it's flickering,
hypnotic magnetism.
It's a shame that this time
we can't rewind.

Fantastic
I just love the imagery in this poem. You have given the cassette tape a life of it's own. I find it so difficult to write in this style so I admire the fact that you can. Excellent write!!!

WELL DONE,
The true shame of it all is that most people who trash our "mother" do so without a second thought. I have seen "drivers" dump entire trash cans out as they fly down the road. I can only hope that they recieve their just reward.
excellent work

so true, you've really captured the terrible feeling of seeing all that gross yucky trash around
I really liked the lime where the ribbons could smile if they had a face. Very powerful line. I liked how this was suttle, yet you could sense the underlying anger. Great write!
