It's Tomis, If he...

dances beneath thunder storms
strikes white-water veils of light
gathers burgundy's paramour forms
to breathe chanson of night

inhales whispered ambrosia
paints her cherry blossom springs
traces lips with fingertips
gentle as mourning dove wings

drops kisses soft as summer rain
and moondust in silk hair
strings starlight across her breasts
finds emerald fire there...

holds her song in tremelo
vibrato's secrets tender
enfolds her safely in his arms
laughs in sweet surrender

tastes of strawberry waffle mornings
serves sun-up on a platter
opens his palms to bless the day
for those to him who matter

says, "Don't make me better than I am.
life's push often comes to shove;
I stand in the light a natural man."

But Tom Burson's heart is love!

Author notes

"You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star"

Chez, I broke the rules with the rhyme, but this is how it came, much the way I wrote when I first came across Tom's poetry. He'll remember. Please leave it in for him.

Hugs, Tom. You are a warm, incredible poet and friend. Thank you! ~Karen

This poem is a wonderful show of friendship.
I can't say which stanza shows more beauty, for all of them left me with an image of loveliness.
Excellent poetry dear Karen, a display of your tender heart.
May Tomis be always blessed with great friends like you

I wonder if you can practice humility with pride If you can, I have been that guy. Still, to be loved with the open wealth of someone's care is to be overwhelmed. It either leaves one in stunned silence, a sigh and then one begins to breathe again or strength fails and all you can do is hide. This has left me awed.

Slowly but surely, the persona that is most evident on the net is becoming more and more evident in the everyday. It is nice to see the one that was to protect me from abuse and aquire attention slowly slip into disuse. I can only thank you most prominently as well as several others. You faith, acceptance and most of all the depth to which you would allow the simplest of blessings reach had a deep restorative power for my soul. I have always believed it is not the giving or the receiving that matters, but only how the gift is shared. Your sharings with me have been full of all the blessings that friendship should bring.

Thank you is only the beginning of a trail and tail of sharing and joy that my heart holds for you. May we always be rich in blessings and the dance of joy.
    Peace & Light,
    Tom B.

      Tomis,

You have been that guy and you are! May you never have to hide.... I wish with my entire heart that you continue to heal in all areas of your life, that the years the locust have eaten are given back to you. It is a promise.

It delights me that you like this poem, because I thought about what I wanted to say for a long time and hoped it would say what I meant. The rhyme came naturally to me, and I knew you would see me in my old style of writing. There may not always be a time when we have the luxury of the net to communicate, but I want you to know the blessing of thought is instant and powerful no matter the distance, and you are in mine with a radiant smile.

      love,
      ~K

Nicolette, It's good to see your beautiful smile on my page. As for light, romance and beautiful, gentle things, you know they can radiate in any given moment... Tom's writes always do, surprisingly so.

    Another author on AP I don't know. I've become such a shut-in.

He sounds like an adventurous, mercurial, multifaceted and eclectic writer (from your words) and indeed he must be to inspire such beautiful sentiments.

I hope you are feeling well.

An absolutely beautiful piece of poetry. Although I know nothing about the person this refers to, I can't imagine anybody being less than delighted by this splendid poem.

    Very well done,

Tom is a romantic poet in every sense of the word, but he also has a great eye for nature and a keen insight that is sometimes overlooked. I've been reading his poetry for three years or so. He did like this, but I think it's partly because there is a gentle give and take between the two of us, that has especially touched me at times.

I'm smiling from the inside out at your response. Thank you!!!

When Tomis reads your words he will feel the Love of one who has received his Love... of life, of connecting and sharing with kindred spirits who cares for and hears his heart, as he so lovingly bares and shares it. A Heart in hand understanding that passion should not be rationed, but spread across creation with elation! As you both breathe beauty, it is my duty (and Honor) to salute you both... your touching tribute to Tom, surely gets my vote!

Thank you for reading and sharing your spirit on this page, Nicky. It seems more than coincidental that you use the phrase a "heart in hand" because I was thinking along similar lines about how often he's taken time to pick my heart up off the ground and dust it off for safekeeping.

Passion, elation, joyful creativity--these things seem to be part of Tom intrinsically, along with an overwhelming perserverance, and I see it in your writing, too. Lately the things I've held close in mind have cropped up in my reading...a lot! *Hug*
