brought to his knees
made to bow down before his maker
asking forgiveness for sins
he and others had committed
nothing else could be done
it was time for that last walk
his last meal was over
now it was that final path
strapped in and waiting
injection, last gasp, death came quickly

death is never beautiful
no matter how one thinks on it
and to die after making peace
must set the soul free
I would not know

I don't know why but I thought this was about Jesus ... I guess the last meal idea. It wasn't until I got to the "strapped in" part that It hit me. Big controversy now about that injection ... I hope the Supreme Court knows what it's doing.
