Such delicate petals gentle in the breeze,
raising and lowering like a little breath.
With the color of rubies these lonely seas,
smother with light flowers a sweet lovers death.
A tiny life enclosed in a rose's folds,
the seeds of love radiating from within.
The reason for life this fragile flower holds,
and within it's glory new passion begins.
With the birth of a seed another love starts,
from the death of the old a new babe is born.
Beats in tune does our small lovely mortal hearts,
and shall forever till the petals are torn.
Author notes
I wanted each stanza to be a little different. The first one I wanted really abstract, the second one a little less, and the last one quite straight forward. Inspired by a photo copied picture my friend designed of two lovers within the petals of a rose.
