Sleepless Knights!

In dreams I see this sleeping beauty's face
Through dawn her image plagues my fitful sleep
In quiet coma lies a belle of grace,
her shining light is caught in web so deep.

A princess who invades my life in ways
that I will seek to change as she can haunt
my lonely thoughts through the end of my days.
With greatest love her dreams begin to taunt,

this prince's romantic life, I feel the pain
of knowing the vision, but grasping void,
for hands can never hope to thus regain
the dream that I have so daily enjoyed.

Tomorrow, knight of white, yes, I shall ride
to seek a kiss from lips of princess bride

Wow, what a beautiful tale you have told! The imagery your words paint is wonderful and the emotions so tender, a stunning sonnet! I love the theme, something I used to day dream about, a knight in shining armour...still waiting..lol. Superbly penned!

Surely a piece of poetry to capture a maidens heart. And the reader so enjoy the words of a true poet.

this is beautiful. I see the couplet at the end and so supposing it was a sonnet, I went back for the tedious syllable count and found that some of the lines were off so the iam is kind of tossed out the window. Still beautiful however and you didn't say it was a sonnet that was all my idea thank you for the beautiful entry.

Wonderful imagery. The sweet little dream is made more vivid and 'real' by the underlying frustration from the 8th line. It's as if it's a sign of 'void' in the 'prince's' life, which he must fill. In this way it's a romantically motivational piece.

    Nice rhymes, also.

Sleepless Knights! Very intriguing, this has a touch of the alchemical wedding about it. Maybe an animus/anima union. Many people think the whole sleeping beauty story is about exactly this. Or is it just a Jungian slip?
    Very Good.

I loved your take, so much,

that I changed the title to 'Sleepless Knights'. Thanks for the heads up on that idea. It was done for a teenage judge whose psuedonym is sleeping beauty
