Standing alone on the steps...
The woman cries
With tears of lost hope.
for
Like a child whom is lost
In nighmares and dreams...
She bows her head
After reading the letter...
Wondering Why.
Why did he have to break my heart
After I trusted him.
He had whispered sweet words...
Romanced her with wanton delight
and
Taken her heart and virginity...
Only to lead her astray.
Why she asked again?
Why is trust and honesty,
Hard to find or believe...
When one spins webs of deceit
To only satisfy their lusts...
For sexual favors to soon be forgotten.
ASsshe ponders again this lie...
Which cuts deep in her soul
Leaving thorns where once there was love...
She wonders if the sea is calling her
To cast away her woes and life
In its crashing waves.
Is this life worth it she asks?
To be lied to again?
Will my pain end
If swallowed by the oceans whispers
Calling out to her...
Jummp in.
Will my grief then be over
Or start again?
Jumping may be worse
Despite my pain...
Isn't there a light on the ocean
That could rescue me...
I'm confused and alone again
Will my suffering never end?
Unable to take her life...
Still crying from her broken heart...
The woman risks living again
With the hope a true prince will appear!
So
She will live a happy life
In a fairy tale of romance...
That won'd die
or
Make her cry again...
After deciding to live
She still stands looking at the seas beauty
and wonders...

you have captured her thoughts extremely well in this poem. brought her to life so to speak. so much goes through a persons mind when its all over. deceit, broken hearts, lost love all the risks one takes when falling in love. is it worth it? one of many questions that many of us have asked. the pain of it all thats felt within the heart, the burning, the yearning for that one that walked away. I can relate to this poem of yours for many reasons, and at many times in my life.
excellent take on the prompt
good luck
