The smell of smoke and an open bar
paint a harmony with the colored lights
and the artistic talks among the people
in band shirts and jeans.
The sound check and the static
heighten the anticipation of the performance.
The vocalist taps the mike and introduces the band
with an intro to the set.
The notes of the first riff flow through the air.
the lyrics start soft and gradually make their way to forte.
The melody is familiar as the crowd begins to shout the words out.
With the second and third songs a crescendo of energy and noise
fills the room until the beat of the drums melts into the
beating of your heart.
The rhythm of the music
becomes the rhythm of the bodies.
Then the acoustic set is played-
with only the chords of the guitar
and the smooth tenor voice of the singer.
The chorus comes and the emotion wells in his vocal chords.
The haunting song ends with a note full of sadness and vibrato
in perfect combination.

At the beginning the flow was a bit rocky, but it certainly picked up in the last lines and was simply beautiful.
