a few months ago that song would have made me  sad
and almost cry
but not anymore

I missed him
perhaps maybe  a bit too much
for awhile  I was afraid of letting go
because the end of that equation  meant being forgotten
there are so many things beyond my control
that's one  of them or it was
but  i think its true when others 
tell me i'm truly unforgettable

The six string sits in the corner
i pick it up and start to play
an empty headed tune
and then the tears just to flow

Teardrops  wasted teardrops
on that fancy six string guitar
he's got that special song that left me crying
in the corner
though now i don't why i did.

Wasted tears  no longer fall
because i am finally moving on
something I should have done
six long months ago

Memories are not forgotten
and hopefully I haven't been
now  i no longer pick up that six string
and strum that lonely tune

Perhaps one day he'll come back into
my life
and i'll welcome that most definitley
and we'll talk and laugh and reminicise
about the days in New London
that both us  remember and miss

and sometimes  I wonder
why  I get myself so anxious
about stuff that isn't
that worth it to get  anxious over

and now  I pick up that six string
and just strum
and am happy those lonely teardrops never come.
