I sit down
on a couch
pen in hand
notebook opened to a blank page
a whole world i am writing
a whole destiny
a whole future
ships sale
from fictional sea
to fantasy island
and i can feel the adventure
i can experience it
all through
the workings of my pen
i write from the heart
and pour myself on to the paper
it is all a figment of my imagination
i look back at what i've created
and for the first time
i feel satisfied
accomplished
i feel
happy

Imagination can take you to many places, only an author would understand. It is in books where authors carry us along to those places found inside their heads. I can relate to this write in so many levels.
My only suggestion to you is not using 'I' so often. Your title already tells us this is about you and your writing. An small example of what I mean:
"it is all a figment of my imagination
looking back at whats created
and for the first time
feeling satisfied
accomplished
overwhelmingly
happy "
In this case your words are still relating to you. Again, it is merely a suggestion. Each poet has an unique style about them, the way you've penned could be 'your' unique style. There is no wrong or right in my opinion regarding poetry--its a matter of taste in style.
Overall, I enjoyed reading your poem a great deal. I do appreciate you sharing it with me. Thank you so much for entering the "Passion" contest.
Best of luck to you,
Florida Sunshine
