Having read some of the other comments, Jack Johnson is SO not my thing, and I've never heard of that Jason blokey...
But I like the lyrics well enough, and think it would be interesting to hear the melody. (Please say it have one? I think Jack Johnson doesn't!!! Sorry- If I offend... What do you think Of James Blunt or James Morrisson? iI;ll stop now.)
One thing, you need to put in your author notes which of the songs on the list inspired you. Just pick one that vaguely fits.

Yeah I just meant to tell him that it was a more acoustical song with alot of ups and downs. I guess I could picture this done by james morrison
and I used to have the tune of it on youtube, but 1) i didnt really like how I sounded, and 2) i didnt reall master playing and singing it at once. o well right? lol
but i can give you some idea of how it carries, with crude notes. very crude lol
