I told you the truth because you deserved to know.
I showed you my anger,
and what you had done.

Then I told you I was fine,
And that, for the first time,
Was the truth.

Honestly,
The happy moments,
The good days,
And all your brilliant advice,
are some of my favorite memories.

You were always there for me
just like you promised,
You helped me through my worst times,
and helped me laugh again.

You taught me so much,
and inspired me to
think
write
and sing.

Never will this desperate attempt to explain
be enough.

In those dark days when I was numb,
You reminded me what it was to feel.
Everything you said helped me to grow.

And I remember still the words a very wise man once gave me
"If you don't take the chance to say what you feel, you will regret it forever."
