Across the room with sparks of light
I saw him smiling, late that night,
and all the earth did bend and sway...
for I was carried quite away.
He seemed to be my man of dreams,
all bound up with handsome streams
of wonderful dark looks and such...
I was attracted, oh so much!
He caught my look and walked my way
and with surprise I heard him say,
"Excuse me, may I have this dance?"
I nodded then, and took the chance.
This perfect stranger caught my heart
for he had known me from the start.
The attraction was so strong,
but for reasons, quite so wrong.
He was my cousin, yes... quite true.
All grown up, from Auntie Sue.
I was tipsy, yes, that's why.
I gave a laugh... a little cry...
and thought I'd die.
