Her face is memorized,
More beautiful every fleeting day.
(I listened too closely at what she had to say,
When it came to beauty,
And I feel ashamed.)
Forgiveness please,
The mummied wraps fray,
I need more bandages to keep my heart at bay.
(This first aide kit won't do,
I promise.)
Some days I entertain the idea of telling you,
Runaway and get far,
far.
(Lose yourself as you use to,
you shouldn't stay.)
Other times,
I day dream of being a better person,
And trying to become a net,
Capture your butterfly soul,
Which flits from flower to flower.
(Oh and the cruel things I would do,
Pinning your body down and enjoying,
So your wings may flutter,
But you would never escape.)
