A Killing Smile

flash in the darkest night
silver weaves through the crowd
and mingles in veins...
cuts across skin and bones –
heart is slain
all space and heat in between
collide -
two gazes from afar
but minds fly together and close
through the crush of strobe-lit bodies-
not a stranger
but the one who knows what is disguised
behind the cool mirror of eyes...

Author notes

written while listening to a 30 second sample of 'Disco Science' by Mirwais...pure imagination/sensuality...don't know if i really like this one or not.

This poem reminded me of those little slivers of glass that get under you skin and you can't rinse them away...painfull of annoyance. I don't know if that is where that was going or intended, but its good. Significant to heart breaking?

    Outstanding

Delicious! This moment doesn't happen very often but when it does and that little indefinable something clicks... You've caught it like a camera, beautifully.
"but the one who knows what is disguised
behind the cool mirror of eyes..." is quite breathtaking.

Takes a heart to know a heart, a mind to know a mind... Smile...
    Excellent write!
