It smacked of brickyard brawn
Ken Kesey would be
proud
I was not
Left weak
with an engine that had
seized
in my chest
there was no answer to
one question
asked and
no amount of
begging
would provide answers
smiles and gestures
failure to
communicate
noises of the trains
departing
drowned the sound
of a cold whisper
goodbye
with a hug

"smiles and gestures
failure to
communicate"
My favorite part -
Very good, love the style.
-
Very resonant. The alliteration in your first stanza is strong, and the sound throughout the remainder of the poem does not disappoint. I think my favorite is this
"Left weak
with an engine that had
seized
in my chest"
Love it. >pixxie<
