If I should die then let me drown,
Like in my dream of the sea
The one that washed the grains of sand
Gathered and stuck
after years of leaving footprints
Made me heavy.
Let me feel the rocks on bare skin,
Wearing away
Until the stones break in.
I am blind, eyes closed against the wind.
Spirit and survival scars
curling toes and fingertips.
Hold on.
I lost my way on this dream coast
But I have always, ALWAYS been listening.
If I die then let me drown
The way I dreamed I would.
Let me float and drift
surrounded and safe.
Let me forget how to breathe
Then remember how hard my heart can beat.
Let him flow through the cracks
And sting the cuts and broken skin.
Strip me bare of sand and
Let me start again
If I die then let me drown.
your eyes are the colour of the sea.
