Like a phoenix
you tumble, hurt, and renew;
you grow old and grey
and yet you live through.
As you watch those around you
slowly pass on,
your children, grandchildren;
yet still you're not done.
Technology booms,
the world grows much faster,
through wars and starvation;
watch weather's disaster.
Would you really want
to live through it all?
To be historic relic,
and be immortal?
I wouldn't.

not me and that is for sure, i would be happy dying right here and now and that is the end of life! mine at least. i do think though we are destined to live - this life is not the be all and end all of us, wait and you will see.

Interesting.
A very interesting question to ponder. The idea of living forever is so enticing; but to see others, especially the ones we love, pass on is heartbreaking. Good job, fellow poet.
