Missing image

Framed by the fork
of deadwood
and tendrils of fragile
wintry twigs,

irises invite light.

Sun scapes a path
to walk from wreck and worm
on water
towards Eternity ...

and spring forever.

Author notes

Water symbolizes the unconscious and emotions. It is the essence of life energy. It is metaphoric for rejuvenation and spirituality. Combined with Light, as in the picture, it is indeed a powerful prompt for spirituality, knowledge and healing!

Good balance of dark and light imagery!

The photo has both of these elements and I like that you chose to highlight the dark, which is something that not every entry did.

    My favorite line is:

to walk from wreck and worm

    Potent stuff!

    Thank you for your entry!

    Your words 'outpaint' the image.
    Lovely!

you have a gift to 'see'. The combination of words,
background and photo, give life in such a creative way. One could easily have titled this poem 'Sight', however, your choice gives the poem 'dynamics', as in 'movement' and in 'process'. The impression is that this poem 'flows' softly and silently into the mind of the reader. Frans

Your words are as pretty as the picture. The sun has been worshiped as the giver of light and life since the dawn of man and it's only fitting that the water is the very womb of mother nature from which all life came. Best wishes in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long
