So many words could I whisper in your ear
to comfort the quiver in your lips
So many feathers could I put on your wings
to those wonderful guardian wings
Swiftly I've gone
My work here...it's done
I've seen you smile
Made you laugh
Yes, hold strong friend
There's something you've yet to do on Earth.
I'm waiting at the gates for you.
Daring not to enter until I see you finish.
This task.
I have viewed life on the earth with you dear friend.
Walked through the hard times, and the best times.
Hold strong.
Keep your memories of me.
My hair glides and whisps gently in the breeze.
My lungs have never breathed such clean air.
Dear friend, I will await your end.
For I will be with you on your task.
In life I carried you.
Though in my death..
I will give you wings,
and dare not enter,
Till I see you fly.......
Author notes
In memory of Farrah Jean Penix.
The one who's perched on my shoulder day to day.
The one who has sung me these words.
I write them for her.

Beautiful
This poem is beautiful. Farrah happened to be one of my best friends. She was like a sister to me. It killed me inside to move away from her and learn of her death. I feel bad for her mom. She took it so hard.

Very good I especially liked the vision of "my hair glides and whisps gently in the breeze my lungs have never breathed such clean air. ... Till I see you Fly..." What beauty. Thanks for entering my contest and good luck. Thanks, Melody

Thanks for reading, and I pray you make it through this....
I too lost three close friends, though I can't imagine loosing them within a week. Mine was within a month, though it still is tough.
Hang in there.
