Opus Magnum

Shimmering transition floods the skyline
as twinkling nighttime softens into day,
the quiet solitude of sleeping earth
awakens to God’s brilliant display.

Showering the slopes with golden morning
cascading down in pink and orange hues,
bursting to full splendour on the valleys
where rippled waters and the sun suffuse.

From shadow to a vibrant saffron glow
exposing crags and grooves in sharp relief,
growing ever stronger to full glory,
when gilded earth is coated in gold leaf.

Soughing winds hold whispered conversations
silver streams bring laughter to their bed,
birdsongs all compete for mind’s attention
soundtracks of the mountains fill your head.

Tranquility is found in those moments
fostering a sense of calm and peace,
a symphony of joy in God’s cathedral
where urgencies of life can melt and cease.

Sunrise brings about a new potential
rejuvenating dreams once stored then lost,
but daybreak opens up a new beginning
embellishing the crown of morning’s gloss.

    Once again!

I read twice and looked at all the comments. Your nature poem is descriptive and visual. The way that you choose to finish with the sunrise is a fitting end to a well written poem.

The amount of imagery I find in some poetry never seems to cease to amaze me. I'm quite impressed actually. Being that I am a fan to imagery I am a fan to this poem. Thank you for entering my contest.

Though it was a little too religiously based for me, it was a very well written poem with beautiful prose, metaphors, vocabulary, and imagery. It was enjoyable to read, and I think you did a very good job in the prompt you were given to work with. I wish you the best of luck in the contest, and I hope to read more of you soon. Good job.

your 'Opus' expresses 'God' as existing in nature, in a 'tranquil','calm', sunrise....since 'HE' is alive in nature,do you also celebrate 'His' cruelty, violence?
