Pick a star

Pick a star
    from the midnight sky and
place it within my soul
                  for safekeeping.

This massive collection
    of cosmic flotsam and jetsam
  that looks so tiny
from my spot on the wooden deck is a
                physical accumulation
of all the steps we took
                      to reach this place.

To meet in the middle
                      of the universe,
and greet each other
          with the old familiarity of
                      lovers in eternity.

The moon has always held
        a fantastical delight for me.

As a child, I wished
with all the fervor one could muster
for things only an innocent could endeavor.

As a writer,
            she enchants me and
inspires works of crystalline dreams and lunar dementia.

But each luminary
            pinned to the nocturnal blanket

Captivates me

            with its magic and creates
                  a new life in me.

As the sun sets this evening,
                              and the darkness falls,

calming the humid Texas dust,
I will sit in the shadows

And imagine which
                  belongs to us.

Bravo dear poetess, you are truly blessed with a gifted pen. Me thinks me will learn a thing or two by lending witness to your magical writes.

    "The moon has always held
    a fantastical delight for me.

    As a child, I wished
with all the fervor one could muster
for things only an innocent could endeavor."

Powerful because of the truth wherein lies this statement.
    Warmly, chrissy
P.S. Congratulations on the birth of baby girl

    Awesome

My favorite part has to be the first four lines. It grabbed me and pulled me in. The imagery in the poem is fantastic. "But each luminary / pinned to the nocturnal blanket". Beautiful!

This poem makes me think of my ex. We used to stargaze together with star finders and the whole thing. It was nice. Still I can look up and find random constellations. They always make me think of him.

    Hello.

A delightful write, very sweet and romantic. It has a child like wide eyed feel to it, like coming across something for the first time that really moves you, or like certain people who never stop giving you butterflies. There were some great lines in here, especially the “greet each other……”; made me think of soul mates. A whimsical write.

    My regards.

    beautiful

This is a beautiful poem, very romantic and lovely. I like the layout of it and the craft which has gone into the vivid images you have picked to convey your love.

There was only one spot where I felt there was a little weakness and that's when you use 'soul' in the first verse. It doesn't quite fit with the rest of the imagery in the poem which is solid and clear and concrete. But otherwise I enjoyed this poem very much.

    Nicely done,
    myron.

So many good lines. This was yet another great write. To save space I'll use line numbers.
7-11 was wonderful, I loved tiny and spot.
13-17 blew me away, the mental image of two people meeting for the first time but fitting together perfectly is an on going theme and I love it.
Lunar dementia crystalline dreams made my jaw drop, beautiful word usage. Have you been reading dictionaries again? Nocturnal blanket used to describe the sky was killer. Belongs to us... in deed.

Once again a magnificent write angel.
