I close my eyes and try to shut it out,
but the image is all around me, i can't escape these doubts!
i crawl into a corner and try to make it all fade away,
but my eyes open to a horror stricken world, only endless days of pain.
the image closes in, taking away my breath,
i can only wish for the salvation that i know as death,
these mirrors are a cold cruel world of people that i hate,
but no matter how long i try to shut them out,
its me i cant escape.
Author notes
"But how about the eyes, they eyes, they eyes?
Mirrors can kill and talk, they are terrible rooms
In which a torture goes on one can only watch.
The face that lived in this mirror is the face of a dead man."

"i can only wish for the salvation that i know as death"
Love this line, as with the entire poem. A great quote has spawned a marvelous poem, the ideas in this are very profound.
Well penned.

I don't know if it was intended, but the lack of capitalisation of "i" is very effective. It makes it seem as though there's so little self-confidence and the message of the poem seems internalised. I like the way you've written it, too. Short but to the point and very effective.
