    You should post it here

    I wrote a similar one as well way back when but now I have DSL which has been working like a charm:

    Connected - (Life In Rural America)

    My phone line has a lot of static-
    good reception, nil to erratic.
    I know this sounds rather emphatic,
    but going on-line can be quite traumatic!

    What's a woman to do?

    I've work to do, that carries some weight,
    deadlines and schedules, dangle like bait;
    I think to myself, time will not wait
    cyberspace "glitch" - a horrible fate!

    What's a woman to do?

    At four A. M. I never sweat,
    closer to six I'm starting to fret,
    At eight, it's much like Russian roulette,
    later than that, it's "no-no-Nanette!"

    What's a woman to do?

    Bytes per second constantly changing,
    this slowing speed has me outraging -
    Hastening my plight of over-aging,
    while cutting me short on re-engaging!

    What's a woman to do?

    "Rural living, that's what's to blame!”
    ALLTEL says, when I call to complain
    I ask again, would you "please explain";
    and their reply is more of the same!

    What's a woman to do?

    When phones became "de-regulated"-
    County systems stayed antiquated,
    The cost for them still escalated!
    And here I sit, so aggravated …

    What's a woman to do?

    "Sit for a spell", and have an iced tea,
    or watch the flight of a bumblebee.
    As I slow down, I have to agree,
    that life alone, connects me with me!

    and certainly easier too! . . .
