Soft~Light~Silver

The world grows dark with rain…
A darkness both cool and warm at the same time,
A soothing energy pulsing through the air
Filling my heart with life.

In silken sheets, it falls
The grey world becomes blanketed in it,
This brimming euphoric emotion
That can only be described as life.

And in this rain, I stand, alone
There is nothing but me and this calming fury
Letting each drop seep into my core,
Filling my heart with life.

Author notes

I'd forgotten just how personal poetry is (I haven't written a poem in some time now) and this one is definitely that ^^" But surely everyone's felt like this? When your heart feels so full of something, and the only thing I could decsribe it as was life. Rain makes everything feel alive
I hope you liked my poem ^^

    Amazing

I was just scrolling through some poetry and found your wonderful piece. I was scrolling through so many poems and found that it was quite difficult to find one that wasn't sad, depressing, or very down-trodden. It's ridiculous the massive amount of "sad" poetry online. Isn't anyone happy. Anyway, I want to say congratulations on turning something as simple as rain into something beautiful and full of life. You described it so well. I always love reading nature inspire pieces. They truly are beautiful. You did a great job. Keep up the good work.

beautiful imagery. I love when the deeply personal also reaches out to speak to others, as this does, with universal appeal. I stood recently beneath the eves while the violence of a severe thunderstorm raged around me, and I felt more alive in that moment than I had in a long time.

    well done

Flows well. Imaginative. Describing the rain as life is good imagery.

i remember going for walks in summer rains. i called that type of rain 'wet t-shirt rain' your poem made me think of that
this is a calming write. it's difficult to explain that 'full heart' feeling. you did it well

I liked it very much. You made the reader FEEl not just think about your subject. I love the rain too so maybe thats another reason I liked this. But you did a great job. Pen on...
