Never Leaving Iraq (09 July 2008)

It started out simple

Of course that’s the way that it goes

Army of one, so Army strong

Strung out, through the window

Of the grand Air Force show

 .

Chalk one we stood waiting

With our bags by our sides

24 hours later

Smelly and broken

But where the fuck is our ride!

.

We hate to inform you

From the God voice above

C-17's hard broke in 'OL Rota

But what’s one more day in the suck

.

Our tents they are spacious

And the cement floors, cold as ice

But shit you’re the Army

And used to the crisis

.

15 months in this shit-hole

But don’t fret it’s alright

One day, maybe two more

I think we’re ready to FIGHT

.

So in limbo we stand waiting

Unable to shower or shave

Man you gotta love it

When you’re duped by the Knave

    :-(

I'm really sorry that you are stuck in limbo, but doesn't the Army do that to you a lot?
And showering...you already don't do that! lol
*hugs* I have faith that you'll be leaving in no time at all...

I wrote this just a few minutes ago, sitting here in Baghdad waiting for the ride of the century to get the hell out of here, with no such luck
