Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.
My Faith Illustrated.
I was 12 yrs old when I was hit by an 18 wheeler fractured my skull crushed my left leg and knee.
Had a severe compound fracture.
Doctors said I would not live 24 hours unless they amputated my leg.
My Dad said wait a little while.
My Mom and Dad Prayed half the night when the Doctors came in and told them the crises was over the infection had stopped and they could save the leg.
My Mom just looked up and said Thank you Lord.
Years passed and in 1986 I was diagnosed with malignant Cancer of the throat.
Was sent to University of Virginia Hospital there I went through all the treatments, Cobalt Radiation but it did not work.
Doctors said they would have to operate and remove my voice box.
My wife and I ask for some time to think it over.
We both Prayed ask God for another miracle and remove the Cancer from my throat.
We ask the Doctors to take a new biopsey they agreed took the biopsey and found no Cancer.
1994 was rushed to hospital breathing problem. After examination I was being admitted. On the way to my room the Nurse called in a "CODE BLUE" I had clinically died on the gurney.
When I was revived I remember someone saying welcome back we thought we had lost you. Later in the IC room a young nurse came to my bed and said she had turned in the code blue said she just started praying said she just felt God had something else for me to do. I had been diagnosed with blood clots in my loungs and my heart. Both lungs and heart are now free of blood clots.
In 2005 I had an automobile accident crushed the same leg as the 18 wheeler did years ago. Doctors could not get my knee joint to knit back together.
I prayed God please save my leg again.
Today is July 8th 2008
72 yrs,ago hit by an 18 wheeler.
22 yrs, ago Diagnosed with malignant Cancer.
14 yrs. ago Clinically died.
To day July 8th 2008
72 yrs. still have my left leg.
22 yrs. Recovered from cancer still have my voice box.
14 yrs. heart and lungs clear of blood clots.
This is a few of the things in my life that illustrates some reasons for my Faith in a Holy and living God.
My Prayer is that some way your Faith will be restored. God Bless.

this piece still touches me and brings tears to my eyes, I am glad that God saw fit to keep you here on this Earth and let you live out all the plans that he has for you and that you have touched alot of people's hearts especially mine. I love you alot and am proud to say your my family

I think the stress alone would have done me in.
Now your poem even has more meaning.
Amazing story of survival.
But before you were even born ,
God Knew of your trials.
He has a special place just for you,
in his home,
that has been waiting since you were a baby.

Thank you for sharing your amazing story here. God has legions of angels, and it is evident here that He as the power to care for us if we choose Life--to live and move and have our being in him. These evidences are miracles of health, but I suspect God has made himself known in other areas of your life as well!

WOW! What a walking testiment to the miracles that God can do when we have faith and pray. To not lose faith after all you have been thru is truly a testimo ny. On a lighter note I bet your nickname is not lucky.

What an expectation and fulfilment of God's grace, Ed. You're a living example of what prayer and faith can mean in our lives. Your post here has come at a time when I can use this meaningful reminder of that.
