The Offering (Kyrielle Sonnet)

Missing image

‘Lighting on her with brazen wings
giving his love through signs of lust.
A cloying scent that sweetly sings
an offering of honeyed dust.

And gently with a touch so light
replaces fear with new born trust.
Slipping his gift safe out of sight
an offering of honeyed dust.

To pledge his troth on final day
and then expire as ruled he must.
He sighs and slowly fades away
an offering of honeyed dust.

‘Lighting on her with brazen wings
an offering of honeyed dust.

I must say that this is definitely an uplift from the last round, for me. I found it flowed together smoothly and the imagery really stuck out beautifully.
