Cute cat! She must like lots of attention
This is a great background, it needs to be realigned so that the type doesn't get in the way of the picture and vice versa. I like the gray solid background, it matches the kitty and set's off the colors of the rose. Great work!

This picture is cute, the background color works better, too. Move the type to the right, perhaps reduce the picture size a bit, and you're all set.
Total width of your background should be 1280, btw.
Looks fine here, but if you the reduce total size of this, including the background, you may go below that. You can add more width on and fill with color, though.
