Johan

The chemicals ate, his mind ignored

Or was his Id and Ego flawed?

A home visit twisted, a woman lies dead

The video recorder hangs out of her head

Her son tied up weeping

The twist plotting his fate

But the elder sister unlatches the gate

The twist’s up and running makes good his escape

Chases some brown and dines out on the jape

In a daze he lies handcuffed, then it’s off to the farm

Where he’ll gather around him some sweet boys to charm

Author notes

Some key words are: Brown = street slang for heroin
Farm = Funny farm, slang for a high security mental institution

This poem is drawn from a true story, someone I went to school with, a strange character and very Machiavellian. Unfortunately he developed a Heroin habit on leaving school, one day he went to visit his Father who wouldn't give him any money. So, he broke into the property next door and ended up murdering the occupant and would have murdered her son if he hadn't been disturbed.

    Sad Write

You have penned a wonderful poem about society's ills. This goes on much to often. Some will do anything to fill the need of their addictions. Thanks for sharing this thought provoking poem. Excellent Write. Take care.
