Order in chaos as the storm rolls in,
watching, waiting for mayhem to begin.
Eeerie silence in distance heard,
standing on guard seafaring birds.
Time to reflect on what lies ahead,
life brings us turbulance we all dread.
Stand vigil to keep darkness at bay,
guard againt storms passing this way.
Headwinds change become too strong,
move on from this place I don't belong.
Impending destruction senses detect,
look forward, back in past retrospect.
No way to avoid the storm on this day,
or time to take flight and fly far away.
But blue skies are there for me to find,
spread my wings, leave this all behind.

Wow.
I saw that contest yesterday and loved the pic but went blank when it came to words, but you my darling have blown this out of the water!
I love the drama slowly creeping in, the first two lines almost came with their own da-da-daaaa music like you hear in a movie as it is being narrated [spelt that wrong I think?] and kept the suspense flowing!
Masterful poem hun!
