Significance trails “in”
like the snap-back
from sling-shoot,
trapping unwary thumbs
waiting on a cease fire.
A throbbing member
that reminds pain it exists
and has a purpose.
As hazards loom
from compressed silica,
those (pseudo)extras
that seem to bloat,
are just bone ladders
leading to throats constriction,
or maybe a china symphony
at the local bowl.
Don’t breathe:
inflation only adds tightness
to eight masquerading as six,
but blue always was your colour anyway.
A wardrobe of big memories
neatly folded into inspiration,
laying in state next to shit shifters,
each a new best friend
that takes more than it gives;
(but that’s what best friends do)
and the chart reads recession,
a steady decline into negative life.
