Said the princess to the knight
take me from here
evil I fear
in the darkest of dreams
an unknown entity
no man to see
whom can it be?
my life we must fear
our good prince shall find me.
As the knight swore his oath
to protect the young girl
evil rose in his throat
Black knight that he was
the princess would die
long before her prince
could arrive
her nightmare would become real.

I can see why this has won a gold. I enjoyed the imagery in your poem. Thank you for posting in the contest.

Hey! A gold! Wow! You said I was dark but this takes the cake, it is a reverse fairy story told in the same way as those tales. Grimms would be proud.

I like this (Of course, I'm partial to the picture lol, tho I wish I could remember where I got it from). Thanks for the entry, this is one of very few poems that actually paid attention to the rules

Dark but very good
We all have a Black Knight in our lives and It's a shame the White Knight lives so far away. Maybe not white but at least light gray. LULU
