Ten thousand days in the fire is long enough,
Your going home.
Your eyes are glistening in the moonlight,
As I sip away the pain of losing you.
I admire your flaws as if you respect me,
And you show no mercy.
I want to hold you close and breathe from your lips,
You slip away in doubt.
As your voice echoes in the distance,
I sip away the pain tonight.
I'll never be alone,
Because whiskey calls me home.

I like this. There's pain, sorrow, loss...but a strange kind of hope too, not sure why, but it's there.
Excellent write, thanks for sharing this, and for taking the time to enter my contest,
Luck. -
Painful write, I like the way you've used the prompt and the way you have finished the circle with the last line. Begins where it ends. Thanks for entering and good luck.
