A Love Poem a Day - 3

I love the water, every blended hue
of aqua, cobalt, dark, royal blue;
apparent infinitude

The sparkling beings that live by
the water are some of my favorites;
white egrets that fly and wade

Bottlenose dolphins that play in lagoons
starfish and urchins in tide pools;
apple snails that leave clusters of eggs

On bright green canna stems in the wetlands;
I wish that our waters could always be
peaceful and clean.

  • When do we leave for the beach?

    This is so masterfully written. I love the line "white egrets that fly and wade". That is such a grand scene! Suffice it to say that "you're all wet!" And in this case, that's good! Nothing like wading through a lovely mountain stream, or a swim at the beach, huh? And being able to view all the exotic creatures that inhabit the aguatic netherworld, fascinating! One of my long time dreams is to go scuba diving. As well as parasail over the water. Well written!

      I'm so pleased that you read and enjoyed this poem

      Scuba diving does sound wonderful. (But, for parasailing, I might not be courageous enough, lol)

      Do you live near water?
