Atrocities rip at the flesh
of an insidious disease awakening
within the shock of cruel intentions
as precious little lives are shattered,
left to die at the side of the road
Tiny eyes left in liquid tears
The fear from the trauma unhealed,
almost impossible to relinquish
from these little eyes taunted
with the hanging of their life's
unfair almost-end, salvaged
Voices taunt my listening ears,
and I will not hear this;
I will not hear this cruelty
as I fiercely wipe the tears away
and curse all who would be so evil
Poke out your own eyes and feel the terror
of the horrible things done to those three
Breathe shallowly until your throat constricts,
and dare to tell me you deserve to live;
you are despicable; inhumane, and wretched
Heart bursts in love and horror,
as scars shown upon their faces reveal
the terrible mental voices within their ears,
causing them to fear those who would care
Their little blinking eyes, sometimes one,
break my heart all over again
And I wonder sometimes why
I stopped hating human beings

I heard on the news mere minutes ago that three abused kittens were found on the side of the road, left to die. They were is horrible shape and it made me want to die inside.

This is so sad, I love animals of every kind. It happens with humans to all the time, what kills me the most is when it is a child or a Mother that is pregnant when murdered. This world has gone crazy & it pains me inside that my children have to see it. I often wonder what happened to the time I was growing up, even if it was not perfect. Thank you for sharing even though I am

I once rescued three kittens left by the road.
This was, to me, much more than about animals. I saw the child who was aborted, the child physically abused, the child raped by one trusted.
Very deeply disturbing no matter who the subject is.

aww no! thats so horrible, im completely against animal abuse its so wrong, i mean im putting pictures of my 5 kittens, this poem really expresses how you feel on this topic, i know how you feel, this is a beautiful poem,
