had sapphires, lovers,
outlaw fragrance, chaotic treasures
but baby dreams
he’d offed
wove a duck
he’d once loved,
its slow, purposeful churn
he started swaying

Had the appearances of happiness and success, but it was a pet duck that makes you sway -> their pace it amazing... we had runner ducks.
Congratulations on the bronze.

The light enigma within a well interpreted thought for your pet Poofer. I don't know but this piece keeps drawing a smile into my face...lol

poofer, great name, it's what gives life meaning in my opinion, the smallest of friends, this has so much texture to it I;d rather it just stew along inside my brain rubbing off until I'm dazed and searching for ducks in the clouds

Very sweet and sad. it hurts when the leave the nest, duck or daughter.
I can't help it , but the title reminds me of a bible quote, not that I'm christian..but i am a recovered baptist..somethings just stick, i guess..this is it:
''Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.''

was going back looking at comments on some poems and noticed that you got that quote ... very good, you're exactly right, that is exactly the one i used to title the poem ....
