red stamp of coercion,
like the small bush of
cerise elderberries,
{sickening to eat},
forced frightened Zimbabweans
to vote for a monster tyrant,
{the only incumbent}.
fingers marked with blood-like blotches,
stuffed ballot boxes, while insurgent armies
hunted dark chocolate kin folk, fleeing
centuries of bittersweet memories, for
a life of semi-freedom in another country.
Some slumped over the borders,
their backs riddled with holocaustic holes;
arms stretched forward toward hope,
as sadistic laughter echoed through
a madman’s lips in the hallowed halls
of a murderous masochist!

Congratulations on the HM. Excellent and amazing

This was not the contest I found you on. But I did recognize the picture. I used to read alot about Rhodisia. The hired some american mercenaries when I was that age. Mugabe was the leader of "SWAPO" then. I had an entry, here too. Congrats on the greenie.

WoW! this is excellent and I can only laugh at the remarkable thoughts you penned so well here...knowing I could never paint such a grimice picture from the line provided...

So sad, so sorrowful, so true!

I was not expecting this at all. Sadly, I don't keep track of global events like I should but I can certainly sympathize with the 'have nots' of this old world. Good luck in the contest.

What a clever and unique and wonderfully worded statement on the existence in Zimbabwe. Loved it.
