Words Remain Unwritten

Missing image

I want to write a poem to you
expose my soul and heart.
Starting at the ending
returning  to the start.
Raw and fleshy no holding back
saying what I feel.
A gritty gray photograph
tangible and real.

The poetry stays unwritten

words remain unsaid.

Laughter all I manage

all that remains ahead.

Around the corner nothing more

so I never go around

though the words are there inside

you never hear the sound.

I could fill a thousand pages

set the world on fire.

Speaking not so much of love

but of deep desire.

As you turned the pages

that's when you would learn

Flames igniting as you read

making fingers burn.

I want to write a poem to you

saying what I feel.

A gritty gray photograph of words

tangible and real.

Very strong. Indeed it is hard to always find the right words to voice how one feels. Well written and beautifully expressed.

  • Lovely as always, deep thoughts and strong emotion.

  • Sock it to me....what a wow! This is so deep and works well even though it has such a regular and well maintained rhyme scheme - what I mean is that such depth of feeling often works best in free verse. here, your rhyming just KOs me.
