I had my dreams
of castles royal,
of knights in shinning armor,
the way you dream
of love and honor,
of sailing the seas
to emerald isles, or
mountains high and bold.
But the seas too wide,
a Princess's life too grand.
Knight-ish dreams are old.
There's better things
in life than dreams
of mountain climbs,
of armor that's too cold,
better things than
imaginary ventures wild,
I'd rather hold you
while you sleep,
and watch our baby smile.

this is beautiful.

This is very sweet. I love how you took a cliche, something that's supposed to be the epitome of idealized love and romance, and rejected it in favor of your own ideals and standards.

This is so sweet!! Brings to mind that pivotal point in a womans life when she realizes that there really are no castles and knights in shiney armor on a white steed....Instead the reality of a simple life and love found in the sweetest of smiles means the most wonderous of lifes! Well done and best of wishes
