what blessings is life
without someone
to share the twinkle
of stars
above us
fingers would
be empty had not
two hands interlaced
touched by fingertips calm
lips without sweetness of a kiss
can't speak
of love's depth
or heart's desire
what need are eyes
if hope's reflection
are not in them
lighting the way
words are just written
or spoken to the air
if there's no one with
purpose to hear
the prayer
