My cousin,
Best friend,
Was stolen from me
Way too soon.
I remember as if it were yesterday.
It was the weekend when I was informed
That you fell ill so quickly.
I was meant to see you on Wednesday,
But the angels took you away
on Tuesday night.
At your funeral,
I sat up front with your Mum,
My Aunty Lynne.
I didn't shed a tear,
Until I was asked to lead the coffin out,
Carrying your portrait.
Every holidays we went to Nans,
and I couldn't wait for the next.
But you didn't meet me there,
That's when reality hit me.
This year you would've turned
19 on the 5th of December.
I'll go to your tree at Nans,
Give you another beer,
And leave more roses from her garden,
That we always used to weed.
Somehow I still always look forward to the holidays,
But have to remind myself
that they'll be spent without you,
Once again.
R.I.P Christopher Luke Thompson.
xoxoxox
I'll always love you.
Author notes
Option 2. Cancer.
My cousin lived two hours away, in Melbourne, so we used to spend our school holidays at our Nan and Pop's farm. His Tree is one I planted in our tree plantation which we planted 100 trees in one of Pop's paddocks. xXx

You might not realise it but in my eyes you have wrote a masterpiece here. I am so sorry for your loss, but judging by you, you are so strong, and to me this says it all.
All the beat to you.
