Gratitude

I know a funny story
It happens to be true
It happened many years ago
It's about me not about you

I was only in my Teens
I was invited to a Company Fair
I  brought a pair of extra shoes
In a bag I handled with care

Well as my Mother had predicted
I had to change into them quick
But when I opened up the bag
The shoes were gone, lickety split

So the only other choice I had
Was to have my shoe heel repaired
My host so graciously gave
A bell boy the job with flair

I sat all through the luncheon meal
With only one shoe on
I was so self-conscious
My Boss just delighted everyone

When the meal was almost over
A Bell Boy stood on the Step
Holding up one Ladies Shoe
That was the biggest embarrassment yet

My wonderful Boss took care of it
Repair bill, tip and all
I thanked him oh so graciously
All the while I felt so small

This is a nice poem. I think its great when friends and family help each other out, even if its the smallest little favor, without ever wanting anything in return. When it happens to me I just hope that someday I get to return the favor to the person who helped me when I needed it.

My wonderful Boss took care of it
    Repair bill, tip and all
I thanked him oh so graciously
All the while I felt so small.
