His Yellow Rose

At first it bloomed, a pure, white rose,
Then slowly a pink blush it had grown.
Of late, it's turned to more a yellow rose,
Growing more yellow everyday in tone.
The Gardener is well pleased with this rose,
This particular rose that He has grown.
For this yellow rose is turning gold;
The ultimate achievement for a changing rose.

Chorus:
His yellow rose has turned to gold,
Which sparkles at night in the starlight
And shines by day so bright and bold!
Of all roses, this rose is His delight.

Most gardeners are pleased with regular roses,
But not this Gardener - this Gardener was God.
He planned it all - the colors, petals, and poses
Of this singular rose like the lily of Joseph's rod.
White for purity and innocence, a pink tone
For womanhood, then to yellow at His nod
Significant of joy and friendship as a rose,
Which finally turned from yellow to gold.

CHORUS

You may wonder what it means for a rose
To turn from so many colors to ultimately gold.
Gold signifies wealth and riches, and in a rose
It means that eternal love in a soul has formed.
You see, eternal love, symbolized by the golden rose
Alludes to the Heavenly treasures by the metamorphose
Of this unusual rose, in color and tone fourfold
Shown, of the gifts for us He has in store.

CHORUS

Wow.... This was great, amazing, wonderful, etc. I loved the symbolism. You used the word rose quite a lot, but that's fine by me. Anyway, this flowed just like a song should. That's what I was looking for. My only small complaint, it was a bit hard to keep looking up for the chorus. Perhaps you should just retype it? That's all person opinion though.

    Excellent work and good luck.

Well first and foremost this is excellent. Though I'm not quite sure yet if I liked the repetition of the word "rose" The rhyming was very well done, I also liked the symbolism of the rose and the Gardner who is God. This is an outstanding piece!

    -Good Luck

I really like the 'gardener' metaphor here. Wonderfully descriptive write! (I thought at first this must have been in answer to your novena...maybe not?)
    Good luck in the contests!

This reminded me of a poem I wrote titled " Just a Rose"
And it was about this same subject . . . I think this is good.

BUT I'll come back & comment this accordingly to the contest's rules.
