A Few Lines of Love

I've been told, love is...

When they are the only person you can think of
Whether you're happy or sad
The person that when you're alone
You wish you had.

The one when you're near
You want to cuddle and kiss
And when they're away
You would always miss.

Always wanting to have your hand around them
holding them near
and holding them dear.
Holding their hand every moment you're with
Knowing there isn't another feeling like it.

Gazing into their eyes
So dark and so deep
Wanting since the first time you saw them
Off their feet to sweep.

Baby all of these things
I was told were true.
But I only now know their meaning
After being with you.

    What is Love??
    you could give a kiss
that would sizzle to the core
    yet it would not appease
if you gave a dozen more
    You could hold love close
    to warm a heart
    yet you'd find that
    desire had not fled
You could visit love at night
and please it with your touch
    yet come the dawn
It want you just as much
    You could try something old
    or something new and improved
    yet love's hunger for you
    could never be removed
    You could kiss, hold
and vow your love so true
but no matter what you do
Love never gets enough of you~~
    A beautiful write~
    aww~To feel true love
    Deep within ones soul~
    Smiles~Hugs~Emma

This write is very tender...and though you may not have someone in your life right now (join the "I am alone too" club...lol )...one day, words like these truly will sweep someone off of their feet and they will just melt into your arms.

Sounds like a fairy tale...but i hear tell it can happen...and does...just keep your eyes open for the blue moon!

    Soft, sweet stuff.

Wow! I can absolutely relate to this lovely poem! So true! I've found my lifetime mate, and it looks to me as though you have too. I wrote "Castle of Contentment" to exemplify the same love of which you speak. Hold it dear and near. I am so happy for you! Caused me to think of the one I will spend the rest of my life with. Many hugs and tons of happiness sent your way! Pen on, Dear Poet, as I shall surely be reading more! Just lovely!--Kel

god that was gorgeous. you certainly have a way with words and if there is one way to turn women on it is with words. this was so delishus to read because from the beginning we are led to believe that there is no love in your life and then you turn it around nicely at the end so it holds your attention. nice twist in it. really cleverly put.

this is a very well thoughtover written poem. you put some effort into it i can tell. there are so many different ways to tell someone you love them and many meanings of love, you put the words together very fondly. it was nice reading it and i hope everything works well for you! the best of luck and i cant wait to read more of your writing!
