Aria Of Love

Arms are still now,
unmoved by silence;
Breath caught--
in an endless tremble.

The blue of eyes
casting shadows--
upon reels of images,
slowly rewinding;

But 'tis my ears--
that suffer so,
deprived of the melody of you;

Of the warmth,
radiating from falling notes--
that once caressed me gently,

or vaulted into octaves--
of wonder
and exhilaration.

And I was carried...
nooooo swept away--
with the joy of you;

Thus the loss of such laughter,
has rendered me stone deaf--
to the voice of beauty,

and mute
to its aria of love...

    This is great,
    I lllooovvveeeddd IT!!!
    Every stanza in this poem is great but if I were to choose it would be the last three

    And I was carried...
    noooo swept away--
    with the joy of you;

    Thus the loss of such laughter,
    has rendered me stone deaf--
    to the voice of beauty,

    and mute
    to its aria of love...

    Its amazing,
    And I liked the font you used,
    Its diffrent.

    This is very powerful,
    Good read.

    WoW

    I had to read a couple of times, but when I got it wow what poem! well done you. Very emotive and left me feeling as though I had just lost someone, Kind of floored me, I'm going for a milkshake to lift my spirits. A very skilled piece of work Thank You

  • I got this image in my head if being in school and the film in the old-fashioned film strip wheels breaking. Once taped back together, the teacher would have to rewind to get the film back to the right spot. We could see all the images in rapid backward motion, but of course no sound. Eventually though, she would get back to the spot where we were supposed to be, and we were able to progress as normal. Of course when the reel got to the part where the film had been broken the sound, too, was garbled. But the reel went on, and the rest of the picture would usually play itself out just fine. There's a lesson in there, I think. Definitely something about music and dancing, and becoming strong again.

    This was a beautiful piece. Gently melancholic, beautifully painful. Tons of amazing, short phrases. My favorite was that one about vaulted to octaves, particularly in stark contrast to the muted aria.

    Excellent stuff.

    I loved this -the power of sound-animated through these words. Something one might not realize as being such a devastating loss-a loved ones laughter-until it is truly gone. Wonderful write Bunny.
