The River Of Life

The river of life
Will always flow;
But will it shrink
Or will it grow?

A tree falls in
And blocks the streams
Right now this life
Is hard it seems.

A rock gets thrown
But the river won't stop.
Should we go around
Or over the top?

This river starts
To twist and turn,
So fire away, because
Water can't burn.

The river may rage
In a storm or a gale
Will it flourish again
Or will it turn stale?

The water is calm
It can finally rest.
This life has prevailed
Over every last test.

    This is an awesome poem. Of course the river of life much keep flowing. I like all the obstacles thrown in there and how it just kept on flowing. I enjoyed the read!!!

    Good thinking. Everyone needs a little heads up for life. Sometimes we forget to live and go on existing, sleep walking through our troubles. I have a tendency to do that and your write reasoned it out wit me. Besides this, you've expressed the river beautifully. I could see its shimmering waters, clear and blue.
    The stanza 4 is intelligent. Keep writing, Cheers!

    Amazing!

    Thats possibly one of the most beautiful poems ive ever read on here it gave me chills everytime i read it. It seems the hardest things life throws at you theres always the question of how you will make it, but sooner or later you always find out that you will. an amazing poem 5 out of 5

    This is a positive look at life told through the river metaphor. Yes there will be obstacles and challenges but that makes the journey all the more interesting and develops character. Well Done!

    our streams are dwindling as age of our trees deminish life and growth, but we hold out hope for new growth in our wild habitat, thank you for this refreshing entry, good luck
