A Single String of Pearls

Handed down from your Mom

to mine,

from my Mom

to me,

from me to you

to wear on your wedding day.

Four Generations,

one Priceless set of Pearls.

Along with this gift comes

never ending Love.

Shared from years ago

till now and beyond.

Could a Priceless Treasure be,

what holds a Family bond togehter?

Pearls that contain Love from

women bearing the same blood.

A token placed around a neck

A single tear falls

that day.

Remembering that

one Mom is missing,

yet a Family is never broken.

We laid her to rest in Pearl

earrings.

The neckless we kept.

 It must continue

to your Daughter,

and hers to come.

A single string of Pearls

and

a Families never ending Love.

    Very Nice

That was really thoughtful as to carry on memories of who we are. More people should try things like that. Your friend "BOO"

Beautiful my dear friend. I especially loved this, as I have this same tradition in my family. My grandmother was given a set of pearls by her mother on her wedding day, she gave them to my mother, they are now mine, saved for Hope when she gets married. Such a wonderful heirloom of unending love. Thank you for sharing this, and reminding me of how special this tradition is, so nice we both share this.
    blessings and love,
    Michelle
